If you are in Roma and are looking for a nice restaurant, I recommend Casa Coppola. The husband of a friend of mine and his brother opened this restaurant a couple of years ago with a very famous Italian chef, Marco Coppola. They met Marco through mutual friends, and soon after decided to open a restaurant together.
Casa Coppola is located in the Flaminio quarter, about 1.5 miles from the Piazza del Popolo. It is a modern yet very cozy restaurant ideal for any occasion, open Tuesday through Sunday from 12:00pm to 3:00pm and 7:00pm to 1:00am, closed on Mondays. The restaurant offers a vast selection of wines to accompany the superb food of Chef Marco Coppola.
Marco is from Sorrento, Amalfi Coast. After he moved to Rome, he became an acclaimed Chef. He became very popular after participating in and winning a culinary television show, La prova del cuoco, Rai1 TV. He was also present in other Italian TV shows like Gambero Rosso e Alice and Eat parade TG5. He has written several books, “La Goletta del Gusto,” “Da uomo a uomo,” “Marco e Roberto cucinano per voi,” and he is currently writing for the magazine “A tavola.” What else can we say? Chef Coppola is real deal. I won’t mention names, but some of the Food Network superstars, say they are Italian, but they can’t even speak Italian! So….if you go to Roma try the real one and see what he can do on the stove. Sorry if I’m been too patriotic and proud of my country 🙂
